So much so that my friend and I actually took the time to write this up. It was spawned while watching Naruto do something stupid and hearing my friend yell 'Duh, how many Naruto characters does it take to change a light bulb?' So we proceed to find out, in great detail.   The results are humorous, but that really doesn't change the fact that we're absolute losers....I'm proud to be a loser.

Yes, the age old conflict of the dreaded Mary Sues. Normally, I wouldn't even bother to post a rant up about Mary Sues, but I was contacted today by SpiderWench, a friend of mine of FF.net, and asked to share my views on the subject. Now I'm posing it here so I don't lose it should anyone ask for the same opinion.

Ugh, I love the Naruto characters to death but when writing them I often find myself wanting to strangle them. They're all so different. All of them with different personalities, quirks and stereotypes to avoid. Because of this, I decided to start character rants in my head to help me while writing. I'm constantly at war with myself over strengths, weaknesses, flaws, observations, notions, fan-constants I like and dislike and how the character comes together as a whole, both with set in stone evidence from the series and widely accepted fan-constants.

That said, I'd like to begin my little rant series with Iruka, one of the more difficult characters to write in accordance with the show.

Like I said before, I'm writing things, really. I've been working on my crappy one shot for the past three days.....I'm still not quite sure where I'm going with it, but it's going to end in tears...everything I write ends in tears...even when it's supposed to funny. I believe that I'm cursed.... oh well. So, while I'm figuring out what I'm doing, I found another creative little meme thing to amuse me.  Stolen from the

Negh, I'm writing things, really I am. There are just way to many OTHER ideas floating around in this maelstrom I call a brain to focus on any one thing for any length of time. Someone give a broom so I can swat away all these damn plot bunnies. Does anyone know a number for an exterminator? Ugh, the most I've got in the past week was maybe four sentences for the next chapter of Virtual Catastrophe, some sort of vague idea for the next chapter of Seeing Forever, and some angsty piece of crap that I'll put on here if I ever get around to finishing it.  I think I'll super glue my fingers to the keyboard, maybe that will work. Oh well, not like anyone really cares anyway.

A few of you may have noticed that my so called "mastery" of the English language leaves...something to be desired...ok, I"ll stop playing, it leaves a lot to be desired, almost to the point of "What in the world are you trying to say?!?!?". I blame most of this on the fact that I failed fifth grade grammar and havn't had a lesson since. The rest of it, I blame on the Word Processing program that is constantly too busy distracting me with grammar corrections that make no sense at all to warrant any sort of merit when it actually IS getting something right. Also, if you havn't caught on, I am the self proclaimed queen of run-on sentences and the grammar check does not fix those. So, at this point, I am putting my non-existent pride aside and begging someone, anyone, who has a decent grasp of grammar to volunteer to beta my work. The butchering of the English language has to stop, as it can be rather pretty at times, and I could really use someone to help correct the errors of my ways. I can only pay in half-assed ideas and some virtual cookies, but it's the thought that counts, right? Anyone interested should contact me in some way. I live on my computer, and am not very hard to get a hold of. Many praises of thanks in advance.
